GROWTH . LOVE . OPPORTUNITY . WELLBEING

Often children can come into the care of the Local Authority as an emergency and the right  foster family (local to their family and friends) isn’t available at that time. Or children may be placed as an emergency into foster care where the foster families may not be able to meet the child’s needs at that time.

Glow provides a specialist therapeutic home, with a clear transitional path to a family home. The clinical and residential team complete a ‘Therapeutic Needs Assessment’, stabilising the child and ensuring their future home will be matched appropriately and securely.

Glow provides stability, with a strong team of therapeutic parents and therapists holding the child in a safe environment. By building trust and relationships this enable the child to move into a long term family in a more planned, measured and confident way.

Foster carers are integral to this, and as such we have strong connections with local fostering agencies to introduce foster carers to the children through our transition planning.

Our current homes are based in Dorset (South England). Glow is run and managed by 3 Directors who have considerable experience in social work, and running residential services for young people with complex needs.

Rooted in the values of Growth, Love, Opportunity, and Wellbeing, designed to transition children into long-term family homes.
