‘O’ for Opportunity

Glow Activities

It is important and integral to our Glow Pathway that children are given every opportunity to develop their strengths. Our GLOW model includes O for Opportunity – This is strength based, focussing on building what’s missing and not just fixing what has gone wrong.

1. Increasing opportunity for choice and empowerment, and skill through executive functioning, problem solving and social skills

2. Identification and exploration of a range of aspects of self and identity, and building coherence through development of narrative around key life experiences, including traumatic exposures

3. Rebuilding confidence and trust in learning and interests

Each child has a weekly activity plan, individualised to build their strengths, and also to support in areas they previously have not had the opportunity to experience.

Every day a specific activity is provided that builds resilience, regulation and enjoyment. Children will be linked with a range of sport clubs as well as enjoying alongside their therapeutic parents activities such as bowling, to the beach, picnics, parks etc. In house activities such as cards, jenga, baking, board games are also encouraged, again as part of relational skill building and friendships
