Our Team

Welcome to the

Glow Team

Therapeutic Parents

Each home has a team of Therapeutic Parents. They live alongside the children, providing all the day to day care, love, support and guidance.

Therapeutic Parents have a strong understanding of the impact on a child’s development of loss, abuse, neglect, fear and lack of safe attachments. Having this understanding is integral to providing the love and care required to connect, attune and build relationships and trust with a child.

Therapeutic Parents understand that children at Glow need something special. They need the full support to co-regulate, to be interdependent, and to relearn their beliefs about themselves and others. They are dedicated, attentive and resilient, proud of the children and their ability to survive and grow.

It’s integral and important to all that the Therapeutic Parent cares for the child, prioritises the child as any good parent does. Love will be in abundance, with high aspirations and a proactive approach for providing the child with the best.

Therapeutic Parents have a range of life and work experience. Our experience has shown us that the best adults are those that are able to deliver the trauma informed therapeutic model, rather than relying solely on formal childcare qualifications. Although required to meet regulations in holding a level 3 residential childcare certificate, our TP’s will undergo a robust induction programme of therapeutic parenting, positive behaviour management, child development, and safeguarding
